This postcard from K.C. Mehra's Special Series II. published from Peshawar in the 1930s shows a Frontier Loosewala or "Raider" lying dead on a charpai.

"Loosewala" seems like a term of the era. This was a one of a number of such postcards sold in the markets by various Peshawar vendors in the decades before World War II.

Cambridge features personal and exceptional collections of Indian image material in the United Kingdom. Thousands of image items are listed in the university's online catalogue, many from private and personal collections bequeathed to Cambridge.
