The City Palace Museum has a collection of almost 18,000 images from the 19th through early 20th centuries from the personal collection of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur.

A number of these images were shown in the The Camera at Udaipur exhibition at Museum's Bhagwat Prakash Gallery. This exclusively photographic gallery was inaugurated in March 2009 by Ebrahim Alkazi, founder and Chairman of the Alkazi Collection of Photography.

Curator of the photography collection is Pramod Kumar K.G., Associate Director of the Alkazi Collection in New Delhi.
