The Tropenmuseum in Holland is one of those archives that, while off the beaten path of Raj collections, nonetheless has a number of interesting items. The Dutch ruled Sri Lanka before the British,

and have had many connections with India. Although strongest in Indonesian material, there are a number of India related items in the collection, including Bourne photographs and more.

The Institute also sponsors a number of contemporary Indian cultural and artistic events.
