John Murray
Vintage Works is a by-appointment private photography dealer, which specializes in vintage master images printed close to the time the original photograph was created. The company has many of the world's most important art photography collectors and institutions as its clients.

We sell important 19th, 20th and 21st-century photography in every medium. There are over 4,000 images in our inventory. Nearly all major countries are represented, but we have extensive work from American, French, English, Asian and Eastern European master photographers, as well as important and interesting anonymous work. Values on these works can range well into six figures, although we also have many inexpensive pieces for sale.

We have been one of the premier dealers in quality early 19th-century photography, including images of India. Besides purchasing and reselling over 1/3 of the photographic estate of Dr. John Murray, we have also sold photographs and rare photography-illustrated books from this area of the world that date from the 1840s to 1910s by nearly all major photographers, including Captain Linnaeus Tripe, Captain Thomas Biggs, Felice Beato, Samuel Bourne, Baron Alexis De Lagrange, Captain Eugene Clutterbuck Impey, Richard Banner Oakeley, Thomas A. Rust, J.E. Sache, and Shepherd & Robertson. Some of the media that we have sold have been daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, salt prints, paper negatives, albumen prints, stereos, and printing-out paper prints.
