The exhibition explored the early interface between photography and art, and presented rare images of people and places in 19th century Mumbai. It took a commanding art historical view of developments in photography that closely mirrored developments in painting as it was taught at colonial art schools at the time.
A nice slideshow of old photographs is available on the museum's website.
The exhibition was done in collaboration with the Alkazi Foundation, Delhi and was curatorial collaboration between Tasneem Mehta and Rahaab Allana.
